“Follow me and we’ll go to an exam room,” Rendan said, gesturing with his arm as he went to move towards an exam room. He would ask questions once they were there.

The exam room was small, filled with various healer supplies. Smelled of redwort and numbweed.

Renan was on shift that day. He was sorting through some reports when the rider came in. He stood up and came around the desk with a warm smile, “Did you need to see a healer?”

After what seemed like forever Foreth finally stopped keening. The sound decreased slowly until it came to just whimpers that only those in the Caverns could hear. Finally Foreth turned to get a better look and almost started keening again. Her movement gave room for those also in the Caverns to see the unfortunate carnage. Multiple baby Hatchlings and their eggs had been ground under her huge back paws. The results would be nightmare inducing.

She whimpered as she put her muzzle close as if to nuzzle the remnants of what had one been nearly ready-to-Hatch young dragons.

R'tal breathed a quiet sigh of relief at that announcement. It undid a little of the fear - I am about to hear bad news and if the Weyr sees me fall apart at bad news today it is likely the Weyr will fall apart. He drew a deep relieved breath, reaching at arm up to Talith even if Talith couldn't see it. "Let him have a look then, Talith," he said, the verbal request backed up by a mental one.

Talith dipped his head obligingly, slightly to the right of where Larsin was. Seeing through your rider's eyes was all very well, but it was difficult to get a fix on location and distance and it was a long long time since Weyrling obstacle training.

"I'd like to do the same for Talith also."

A touch of tension loosened at the corners of N'shen's eyes at the news that Truenoth's – and Talith's – sight could return. But only a touch. He nodded to Larsin and said, "Understood."

He looked to R'tal for a moment and wondered whether he should take charge of the investigation into what caused the blast, but he did not want to leave Truenoth's side. He could feel Truenoth demanding the same. Could feel him looking through his eyes.

Larsin tsked over Truenoth's face. It was raw from the head, and there were a couple of scratches. It was the heat that got the eyes. After rubbing a salve of numbweed and redwort over the worst of the burns on the face, he put out his hand to one of his staff. They'd brought armloads of gauze and a couple barrels of mild saline solution. He soaked gauze pads in the saline and carefully covered each eye with one and used a smaller, longer strip of gauze to tie them to Truenoth's head. He turned to N'shen.

Re: Rally The Troops! ((Attn: K'el, Any Weyrlings))

Edited

K'el watched the others gather with a mixture of confusion and determination, Alberith's feelings stoking the embers of his own need to do something in a time of crisis. He was glad to see the arrival of the AWLMs and the Weyrlingmaster himself, at first uncertain precisely what they could do and relieved by their presence. N'kaer at his side drew his attention with a plan already formed to organize the chaos, to which K'el nodded his approval. "Agreed, let's give the task to those who are able," he gestured toward the eager dragons who awaited the chance to take on the unknown threat. "Form up by the doors; go in Weyrling pairs so no one dragon and man-- er, or woman - are left on guard alone." The young man wasn't accustomed to command, but he did his best to take control.

Alberith felt buoyed by the arrival of his clutchmates and at least one from the older Weyrling class, gathering about himself a tiny army with which he would storm the gates. ((We shall make them pay! Prepare yourselves, the time has... come--)) He assured the dragons, sounding as if he were about to launch into a speech when suddenly he fell silent. Zerenth's words were wise; that he appealed to the little bronze's desire for leadership in granting him the task of comforting his siblings only reinforced how willing he was to obey the elder bronze. After a moment, he reared onto his short hind limbs and spread his wings as much as the surrounding stone walls would allow. ((My fellows, hear me! We must be ready to defend our Queens to the last! We shall start with the Barracks and safeguarding our kin. Mertrith! Tototh! You are with me. Quineth! Belleth! With Mandath to the rear doors! Tanith, see to our frightened siblings! Fear not, children.)) Alberith addressed dragonets his own age. ((We shall see to it that no intruder breaches this space!))
