The feelings, the *words*, simply formed in her mind. She shivered, at once delighted and afraid. When she spoke, it was little more than a whisper: "She spoke to me." Automatically, her hand continued to scritch the wher as she looked up at the man with wide, joyful eyes.

Vainglory was only too happy to lift her snout into Yiyu's hand, purring happily. {Like this one. Give good pets.} Vainglory, not being an Impressed wher, was able to broadcast herself out so that Yiyu could hear her.

"Yes," she brightened visibly. "I met someone who handles whers just a day ago," she smiled at the memory. "

"Your father is a wherhandler then?"

S’tinas gestured for his bronze to come closer, “At least the heat wasn’t a big change then for you. Which Wing are you from? I’m from CloudDancers.”

((I will do that. I like my own sun anyways.)) Lepturuth said as he came closer to S’tinas.

The bronze rider chuckled as he began scrubbing his bronze, “Lepturuth is very social.”

"Y-yiyu, lady," she answered quietly, unassumingly. Much like she had with the whers, she slowly extended one hand to the scared-looking older woman, licking her lips nervously. "I'm a Candidate here. Your firelizards are beautiful," she added, unable to resist her own fascination with all creatures great and small.

Oh, she knew the stories. Her lips turned down in a small frown as she considered the other girl's words. She thought of the three whers she'd met so recently and her words to their handler.

"I believe," she said carefully, "that everything and everyone has a place. I have to," she added quietly.

"I've heard," she started timidly, watching as the whers approached, "that many think them ugly. But I don't."

had she dared? She had. She had voiced her own opinion, a thing that she'd only done once or twice in her lifetime and that had always resulted in a swift and heavy retribution from her father. She gazed on each wher, seeing the differences, the confirmation, the beauty.

The question was so stupid, so obvious, that Yiyu blushed furiously and glanced down and away. Her heart turned over at the thought of not Impressing, then lifted a little. She let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Her glance found the approaching gold and her mixed fear and awe showed plainly on her face, though hope blazed in her dark brown eyes.
