"I.... What was that?" Her eyes widened with fear, her heart beat quickening.

She understood his point and while she would always resist any kind of transfer away from the Weyr, she had always known it was a possibility. She put some thought into what he was asking her, "I suppose that it would be the other side of the coin.  I have all the practical knowledge but I lack some of the.. theoretical?"

"I understand, and I'm telling you it wasn't a flight," Z"go insisted.  He let out a frustrated sigh, "It was what I told you, the second thing.  Little harper bitch body slammed me," which admitted sounded just as bad as a bad flight.

"It's not a matter of not being too far behind, it's a matter of making sure you're entirely up to date in all areas," Cremsden said, already flicking through her notes. "Weyr gives you practical skills sure enough, but the kids at the Hall spend a lot more time being drilled. You might get transferred one day and I'm not having anyone thinking you were badly trained because we neglected the basics. Where would you say your weak areas are?"

Cremsden raised his hands in placation. "Hey, look, you turn up five minutes after a drunken fight and are demonstrably not drunk, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask," he said patiently. "This isn't for the fun of it, this is to make sure you get the right treatment, you understand?"

Kassia left her guard outside. She doubted that Delysia was about to jump on her and didn't want to disturb the Queen any more than she had to.

"Hey, how are you doing?" Kassia called as she entered.

Leodred stared at M'ayen in disbelief.  Was he serious?  He wanted to complain but one look at the old timer and he knew there was no point.  The teenager had learned quick that most adults didn't let things go. "Fine," whatever.  He rolled his eyes and turned to leave.

Once outside he knocked on the door and entered, saying in a monotone voice, "I'm supposed to be a candidate, SIR."  He stressed the word Sir, just for the old man.

Re: Checking on a Young Queen atten: Kassia/Delysia/Razelth

Kassia was in luck as both Razelth and Delysia were in the Caverns. Delysia had moved some of her things into the small attached living quarters, so that she could spend the majority of her time split between the Caverns and her office.

At the moment, she was working at Razelth with a stiff brush. Guarding her clutch meant that Razelth couldn't make it down to the lake for her usual bath, so Delysia did the best she could with what she had.

Brooding a clutch was hard on any Queen, let alone a young, inexperienced one. Giving Delysia some much needed breathing room, but that didn't mean she didn't think about the goldrider frequently. She didn't want to stay away forever, though. So she headed to the Caverns, leaving Brogan behind and taking one of her guards instead.

"I was -- oh, I was, wasn't I?" Cremsden said reflectively. "Bought you that awful pink drink." It was the same kind of thing Megin seemed to like so he had figured it would be a hit for a teenage girl. Also it was probably more fruit juice than alcohol so safe enough. "Well. Probably not too young then so let's see what you would need." He gestured to the chair across from his desk, the one with a green and a blue curled up asleep on it. "If you kinda use a file to shoo them off rather than your hands, they probably won't bite."

"I'm eighteen actually," she was quick to remind him.  "You were at my nameday celebration in fact!"  How could he forget!  She did her best to keep her reprimanding tone at bay, she was starting to feel like she sounded more like her mother every day.  "About the Hall... Kassia whirled on Nayari, her eyes still blazing. If she'd been a dragon, they would have been a deep red.

"Your Candidate assaulted me and keeps calling me a thief." She turned back to the girl. "Hold still and shut up if you know what's good for you."

Cremsden eyed him a moment and then sighed. "Z'go. If that's-- if you had a bad flight the injury will be in a different place," he said, tone still very steady and matter-of-fact. "And we can deal with either, it's not a problem, but I do need to know so that I'm treating the right thing."
