OOC: I'm leaving this one here. Shall we grab a new thread with this pair? they're quiet lovely.

((You are good at choosing things,)) Foreth said. ((Bring me a big fish. Yours may come and you can direct him where to get my itchy places.)) She flared her wings, the sun shining off of them, and then settled again.

"We can stay here for now, thank you," Kassia said. She bent and retrieved the piece in question and held it out to Ysolde. "I believe this is yours. I picked it up to have a better look. Stealing involves removing something from the premises and not just picking it up to admire what is a very beautiful piece."

"Ah, I see. My oldest is a Northbred brown I Impressed to back in Crom. I trained whers there for the mines with good success." There may or may not have been pride in Diagir's tone. "I've been bonded to a few personally but they all went on to serve others. My brown, Diagirsk, was the first one to be personally mine. Our bond is quite strong. He's about fifteen Turns I shouldn't guess. Ziya just turned seven, and Vainglory is about... Hm how old is that green... five? Ish? Ah then she'd be about the same age as Glaurung! Vainglory is Ziya's daughter from her first clutch."

Purring happily at the praise, Ziya fluffed her wings. {Ziya perfect eggs. Ziya lay many, all Hatch with strong little'uns. Ziya not mind 'Rung chase.}

((Of course I would choose only the most beautiful of golds to speak to first!)) Sunstreath asserted. ((And I will bring you fish, whenever you wish!)) A pause. ((Mine comes, to also meet you.))

"This is one of those things you learn *only* by practising," Cremsden said dryly. "I'll set you a list every few days. You learn them by rote, you practise and you practise more. Get your friends to test you, practice in front of your pets if you have to, whatever it takes until the response is automatic. I'll test you when you're not expecting it too, but the only real way to learn them is to sit down and *learn* them every spare minute."

"Numbweed is there to prevent the injury hurting unbearably, not to allow you to continue as normal because it doesn't hurt." Cremsden rattled off the speech with the ease of much practice as he opened cupboards, locating the numbweed and counting pills into a bottle. "So, spend the next few days resting - preferably on your stomach - not trying to do whatever you would usually be doing or you'll aggravate the injury further. I'll note down the dosages and timespan between them for you, else no-one remembers them once they step outside this office. Don't be tempted to use either of them too often; I know it seems like we prescribe them for every other injury but that's how you end up with more problems than you started with. "

He set the bottle and jar in front of Z'go. "If you get a sudden severe increase in pain you come straight back in - and I mean, straight back, no waiting to see if it gets better. Same if you get any weakness or tingling in your legs, any pus around the area, or any serious fever - use your dragon to yell for one of us if required." He paused, looking a little rueful. "Not me, mark you, I'll never understand him and end up with a splitting headache. Try K'ren if you can't get anyone else."

"Constipation is not an emergency but if it lasts longer than a day or two come back and I'll give you something to get things moving. Try not to strain. Otherwise I'll see you in four days. Yes?"

"And I'm sure you didn't provoke him in *any way*." Cremsden gave him a hard look. "Apprentices are still apprentices and still learning. That's kinda the point. I'll be having a chat later. However, if you poke them with a stick you're liable to get bitten." He held out the note. "Are you able to apply your own numbweed or do you need help? I'll give you some willowbark as well. It's not as area-specific but it should help. Just add as much sweetener as you can stand."

Cremsden sighed. "Truth is, wouldn't matter *what* you'd done, you step in this room and you get the same treatment," he said, applying himself to writing the note. He considered that statement and then glanced up. "Only exception being if you hurt a Healer or one of the apprentices while they're on duty or *because* of what they did while on duty," he said, stressing that part. "Then it all gets referred to K'ren and things get complicated." And it never ever hurt to ensure that was in people's heads, not when protection of his kids was concerned.

Re: Tail-Bone of a Person ( Cremsden / Z'go )

Cremsden looked startled he had even asked. "It's a generic Healer note," he said with a shrug. "Says you've visited the Infirmary and I advise that you avoid drills and rest up for four days with review after that. I've used it for anything down to someone needing to rest due to overwork or a fever." He looked at Z'go for a moment, finding the right words. "Look, whatever I do in my free time, here, I know my job, yeah? And that.. I've had just about decades of *not* telling anyone anything a patient might not want them to know, I'm fairly good at it by now."

"Z'go is a special case," Aruithil replied, entering the classroom with the candidate.  "I don't care if he is rude; there are a lot of rude people, especially when they are suffering.  Z'go, though..." she paused, making sure there was no one around them before continuing,  "He kidnapped a child once.  Luckily everything was okay in the end.  The boy ended up impressing and everything but... still.  I hate people like that."

A golden firelizard appeared from between and settled on the young woman's shoulder and nuzzled her, trying to comfort Aruithil's heightened feelings.

Was he calling her a fool?  Well, if the shoe fit.  He decided not to reply and instead knelt with her to examine the contents of the box.  When she popped the top off of the lid the smell of fellis filled the area, momentarily overpowering the stench of redwort.  Just when he was about to answer her, he caught the sound of various people approaching from what he thought was a tunnel leading the Infirmary, if he recalled correctly.

"My name is let's get out of here," he said, quickly standing up and grabbing her by her free wrist, pulling her to her feet and down another tunnel, leading away from the now much more audible footsteps; by the sound of it apprentices charged with moving the boxes.  He turned to her, speaking in a harsh whisper, "Hurry up, and don't drop that."
