Re: Let's Not and Say We Did (ATTN: Yiyu/Garatt)

Jessica Freise

Yiyu stood silent, utterly horified at the situation she'd found herself in. Her nuckels were white where she clasped her hands in front of her, her gaze lowered. If Garatt thought she'd be of *any* help, he was wrong.

Very crumpled. As though someone had been lying on it.

"We just.. fell asleep. Um. Weyrwoman." Belated realisations that there were all kinds of honorifics and he had just ignored all of them flashed across Garatt's mind. "Uh, honor to you and your dragon?" he offered in a horrified squeak as though this might somehow save him.

Kashara was taking a morning walk when she saw the kitten sprint by and then the human following it. Immediately she turned to pursue.

"Hey! Hey! Do you need help?"

Re: It Followed Me Home atte: Sh'ain/Kassia

"Aww, poor babies," Sh'ain said, cuddling the kitten.  He'd had canines pretty much all his life, but had never thought about having a feline.  However, it was evident that he was quickly becoming owned by a feline. He tickled her and was rewarded with several sharp little claws dug into his hand and fingers.  "Ow!  Don't do that, little one," he told her, in a voice that suggested that he wasn't in the least bit angry with her.

"I bet she mentioned Sarati and Kashara, didn't she?" Kalain asked, still concentrating on his work. "Maybe even Shalia. But not any of the rest of us."

Re: There's Got To Be a Morning After (ATTN: Shalia/Sarati)

Kassia had faced far scarier opponents than Shalia and didn't even blink. Shalia's lack of clothing may not have helped her stature. "How about how you dragged other people into it. I caught people all over the place. And those were just the people I caught. You two didn't just keep your debauchery to yourself."

"Uh, that was me," Sarati said, raising her hand. "I bought all the wine."

"And Shalia did what exactly to stop you or the other people? I would have hoped that at least *one* of you two had a dragon's tooth of sense by now."

Re: You Need A(nother) Helper atten: R'tal/Kassia

"I could-- oh, oh, that's where this is going?" R'tal was searching for her motive and thought he had found it. He frowned, sitting down opposite Kassia. "You're not having her. I need her."

Shewent over and made herself at home, sitting down on the other side of his desk and putting the wine on the desk. She looked around. "You could use another helper."

Following the Leader (ATTN: Yiyu/Kashara)

Jessica Freise

Yiyu had never thought a kitten could be so much work.

Or so much trouble.

She found herself following a rambunctious streak of black across the bowl one morning, wishing they were more like canines and came when called. Sifha, her darker black stripes stark in the morning light, scampered passed and through legs, over a dragon's tail, and disappeared into a dark opening, her mew drawing Yiyu onward.

"She mentioned she had kids." I'des responded, climbing up onto Sunstreath to get at his neck. "Not much more than that, though."

((*Your* lunch?!)) Mareeth's head came up, though her forepaws stayed planted firmly on the ground rather than rearing back. ((That beast was *mine*!))

"Is that your blue?" R'lian hadn't missed the exchange.

Re: I'm Late, for a very important date! (Alyx/Asheran)

Asheran tried not to smile, in case she misinterpreted the expression, and rummaged around instead, feeding his flit another piece of meat - baby see, baby want - and eventually filled one of the cups he'd snagged from the dining hall with the well-watered wine from the pitcher. He offered it to Alyx, wondering if he shouldn't have tried to nab something stronger with the way her day has gone.

"I helped my brother once when his canine had puppies, but that was... mostly watching. Nothing like that happens in Tannercraft. Most drama we've had is when somebody stains a nice skin. What you do is important. Besides, you'll Impress eventually and you won't be in there, helping whelp babies."

Shalia also returned the glare but didn't bother getting out of bed... though she did keep the sheet up as cover, it was as much because it was already there as an attempt at modesty at this point.  "I don't know what you should be telling us, but I'm sure what you're going to be telling us is how wherrybrained we were.  A Lady Holder Heir and a Candidate have no business getting drunk, right?  And even less stripping in the middle of the Dining Hall!  After all, nothing good could possibly come of a Candidate who gets drunk and strips in the Dining Hall, right?"  As she spoke, the petite redhead climbed out of bed and adopted a pose similar to the Weyrwoman's, albeit rather less forceful, what with the difference in experience, stature, and - perhaps especially - clothing.  "Anything else, or can you just get on with the punishment now?"

OOC: ...it's probably a good thing she's not wanting to get dressed right now because having to ask Sar to borrow some clothes after looking around in vain would not be a good look...

R'tal eyed her warily, spotted the wineskin and groaned. "Oh Faranth, what have you done to M'gal?" he demanded.

Re: There Are Two 3 o' clocks In A Day Attn Alyx Asheran Cremsden

Laura Walker

"And that's more than I needed to know." Cremsden put his hand in front of his eyes, reconsidered, and put it in front of Arden's instead. Because clearly a sevenday old baby was going to be traumatised by naked people.

Arden had not at all been traumatised until there was a hand in front of his face at which point he began to wail.

"Feck!" Cremsden forgot child friendly language and jiggled him frantically. "Shush then, shush. Don't you people have a fecking weyr to go to?"

He tried to focus on Cremsden, and felt himself sober somewhat when he finally managed to put a name to a face. He pushed up onto his elbows, realised he was naked, and stopped himself from standing. Instead, he tried to shield Alyx with his body - his... naked body, and her... naked... body.

"We had sex," he blurted out into the wondering silence, glancing down at Ardy. Surely the flit would understand his complicated mix of satisfaction, joy, horror and surprise. Then he remembered the healer and his baby.

"Oh, shards."

Vecna rewarded the green with an imperious chirp and a flick of her head. The gold was not a firelizard of many words but she watched the green with a beady stare.

"So tell them." Nayari said simply, putting up a hand to gentle sooth Vecna and soothe the proverbial ruffled feathers. "This is a situation where honesty is the best policy. Yes, being a Rider is marvellous. Being bound to a dragon is life changing. But so is getting a clump of thread that eats through your arm, your dragon's wing and you never fly again. They don't need to scared witless, but they need to know and understand the reality of the situation. I've given serious thought to having some of our more seriously wounded Riders coming in to give just that talk but at the same time I don't want to use them like that. And there will be some reckless idiots who see a thread burn as some mark of honour."

Talena listened quite comfortably, able to relax with her superior now that she felt that Nayari was cut from a similar mold as she. Her firelizard popped in and settled on her desk before she saw Vicna and gave an excited greeting cheep. Talena turned her head to give her green a carefully stern look and empathized staying still. "Sorry about her, she's... extremely energetic. On topic, I've seen too many youngsters both here and at Igen who think that dragonriding is just a fancy 'look at me' job, like they're some kind of jockey. Yes, we have an important and admirable job, but we also have an incredibly important duty. It's like they don't realize they can die. It's difficult to tell them that without straight-up telling them that."
