((Beautiful is but a pale word compared to what you are, green jewel,)) Kasheth called. He didn't give into the stall, guessing that she would go higher and instead waited for her to rise again before following in a straight line. ((I would follow you to the edges of Pern and still not find a green as wonderous as you.))

T'rif had been expecting her and called out, "Come in." He was sitting behind his desk with two cushy chairs on the other side. There was also a seating area nearby with a chair near a sofa that they might sit at later.

Dinner was swiftly finished and they rose together. She lead the way out, sending a mental message to the large blue wher to meet them. He was no metallic, but he was *hers* in every way.

"That is a thing," Erena mumbled as she swung up in her saddle. "I appreciate you inviting me on this ride."

"Nice to meet you, Ji," Kassia said. "Have you been in the Weyr long."

Foreth looked around at the Candidate, but otherwise didn't react to the girl.

Rassia shook her head. "Weyrborn can just Stand. At least at the Weyr where they were born. I don't know if that's the case if they try to change Weyrs. I'd never go anywhere else though."

Yiyu regarded the piece of paper in abject fear. All the progress made with Rennitz and Tyne threatened to crumble. But no, she was fine. This was just a talk. Nothing more.

"You wanted to see me?" she all but choked out once she'd reached his office and knocked politely on the open door.

"Bronze rider T'ryn." S'nen's tone immediately shifted, ingratiating with an apologetic undertone. "An honor to make your acquaintance." He paused. "Yes, I'm a new transfer. Sir."
He wasn't sure just how much of an honor it was, considering that he
wasn't Weyrleader any more. But all the same, he *was* still a bronze
rider, and a Wingleader at that. And he was willing to make
allowances for those who were new to Arolos. Faranth knew it took him
time to adjust.

"Well, welcome to Arolos Weyr, then. Allow me to buy you a drink?"

cooler than his initial greeting.  "Pleased to meet you, S'nen."

The Promised Land! (Reitz, Kalain)

Ren

A Whercraft Hall.... an honest to Faranth Whercraft Hall! When Itzeron had told him about this place and asked if he wanted to go, Reitz almost couldn't believe that this was real. Of course he'd said yes! Upon arrival, he'd been greeted by a Senior Journeyman who had three whers including a sharding queen! It was dizzying, really. He'd only seen one gold, his mother's Rennyosk, so this new one had been a shock. So small... The man had been happy enough to have him and enroll him in the Whercraft seemingly just based on his heritage, but Reitz didn't want to be just "Itzeron's son", he wanted to be himself.

As it was, Reitz was happy enough to settle in to the apprentice quarters, still looking around in awe.

{{I shall, I shall steal you away to be the prettiest thing in my hoard,}} Scarleoth promised in a silky tone. He tried to keep how tired he was getting out of his tone. {{Clever Mareeth, you're too smart by a half.}}

Seteieth snorted as he rose up higher, aiming to catch her from above. {{Apologies, dear one. Surely you're already oh so quite aware of how glorious you are. Lightning in the sky doesn't compare with you. You're clever and fast, surely an incredible asset to your wing. I know I'd love to have you at my back. I'd protect you from the worst while you catch what I can't.}}

Fast. Fast was good. Mareeth's joy in flight, however, had begun to dim, the green's sheer speed and agility lacking in any sort of extended endurance. Another proud arch of her neck, calling back to her pursuers, taunting, challenging. ((Catch me- if you can!))

A brief pause, flaring her wings to abruptly stall in flight, before pumping them rapidly to ascend in a dizzying corkscrew spiral once more. ((You, Scarleoth, you are a thief! Will you try and steal me as well? Seteieth, Oachayth, you are mighty, but you offer me no praise! Kasheth, is beautiful all I am? Kiyosarath, I am not a *record*!))

OOC: One more reply each, and then Mareeth will choose!

OoC: Set a couple of days after encountering Kassia.

IC: Neither the Weyrwoman nor the Candidatemaster had been joking. The morning after, she had woken up and had hoped that it had all been some horrible nightmare. But no, at the foot of her bed was a staffer's uniform topped with a note that she was expected in the Lower Caverns immediately after breakfast. It was gruelling and exhausting and to her dismay, Ysolde was already starting to think that her hands would never look the same again.

A couple of days later, she had been tapped on the shoulder by Nayari as she walked through the Barracks and told she was to report to Assistant Candidatemaster T'rifoshe that afternoon. Ysolde had boggled. Everyone knew that the bronzerider was well, the step in between they sent you to the Mindhealers and there was certainly nothing wrong with her mind. She had lost her temper. Foolish yes, but it wasn't as though she was a few glows short of a full basket.

Suspiciously, she had wondered if this was an additional punishment tacked on by Kassia. Wasn't he related to her? But still, she had complied and had knocked on his officer door a few minutes before the time she was supposed to be there. She would do what was asked, jump through all the hoops and keep her head down. Because she was not going to get herself kicked out through being an idiot.

Haven't Seen You Before Att: S'nen

Jerzy Tobin

It was a quiet evening in the Rider's Hall, and T'ryn was more than
ready for a few drinks. It had been a long day of drills and
paperwork, and now it was time to unwind a bit. As he was waiting on
his drink, he looked over and saw a face that was very new to him, a
brown rider by his knots. T'ryn knew the majority of the brown riders
in the Weyr by sight, if not by name, so it was even odds that this
fellow had just transferred in not to long ago.

"Greetings, brownrider. Don't think I've seen your face before. Just
transferred in to Arolos?"

((I think we're going to be friends.)) Meisteth told Ponth, contentedly. ((Would you like to be friends, Ponth?))

"Well met, Greenrider Dytha." J'zat grinned, gave her a nod. "Your Ponth is lovely." He added, took her hand and gave it a firm shake. "I'm J'zat, and this friendly fellow is Meisteth."
