"Believe it or not? Harpering. Not so very well, it would seem." Her voice held the edge of a laugh as a groaning Larensk leaned into her hands on him.

Mareeth bugled one last time, her scream a triumphant cry to the skies, before the green seemed to decide something. And in the next moment she was acting. ((You have all flown high and far but only one of you will be mine! Kasheth, I am yours!)) She trumpeted, and flung herself upward toward him, claws reaching to catch.

R'lian acted as one with his dragon, turning and pouncing.

OOC And the winner is T'rifoshe and bronze Kasheth!

((Sharding right they don't,)) Foreth snapped, her tail lashing. ((You'd best learn that quick.))

Kassia wanted to rub her head against the suddenly growing headache. Who feck sent her this wherry?

"You're new, I take it?" she asked. "Do me a favor and speak a little slower and a whole sharding less. Just the basics. Who are you and where are you from?"

Re: The Promised Land! (Reitz, Kalain)

"Wooooah.... They've made a different strain of whers here?" Reitz's tone was awed. "No wonder da wanted me to train here. Smaller, faster, and smarter... They don't strike me as too good at guarding, but they'd be stunning in the mines. Sometimes real big whers, like bronzes and browns, can't go where they're needed way down in the shafts because they're too big, and there's not a green or blue available. But if the Callamere golds look like the one I saw, then the North would go rabid wanting to buy them!"

Re: Let's Go Riding Atten: Erena/Kashara

Erena had to smile.

"I don't expect you will," she agreed quietly. "When you spend your life being stepped on, you sort of get used to it. At least I'm not like Yiyu. That one has been beaten down so much you can see it in her eyes."

"Colder," she admitted, scratching Larensk head slowly, thoughtfully. "My father died when I was fifteen. I tried my hand at several crafts before falling in love with this one."

Hircoth whipped his head around to see where that authoritative voice came from and was unsurprised and delighted to see the gold. {{Oho hello, sunshine! Istan golds have nothing on you.}}

R'vbor grinned at the (scary-looking) woman, eyes flicking down to her knots before his grinned widened. "Aha, hello there Weyrwoman! Couldn't have made a more perfect landing, could I? I was hoping for a Wingleader at best but bam, here you are! Name's R'vbor, rider of Hircoth, hi how ya doin'? Real nice Weyr ya got here, real nice. That your dragon? She's stunnning. Woah, aha, who yanked Rukbat down to Pern, huh?"

Now that was an easy one to answer. "I don't know. All I can assume is that it is due to the incident involving myself and Weyrwoman Kassia." Ysolde picked her words carefully, the picture of politeness. Hadn't someone said that the bronzerider was related to the Weyrwoman? If that was the case, he was surely already biased against her.

"Oh wow." Even to the child of a Weyrwoman, that this new apprentice had parents with gold and bronze whers was amaazing to him. "The Callameres here are a lot smaller than the whers up north, but they're smarter and more agile. Well. The working line ones that you'll find here anyway. The ones that Revai sells at Callamere as pets are smaller, but not as smart."

Re: He said that you might be willing to help. (Tyne/Ambrelli)

"No." The answer came without hesitation and the bluntness to her tone suggested it wasn't a knee jerk response. "I do not know what you know about me Journeywoman Ambrelli. But it would not be sensible for me to spend significant amount of time around injured and distressed dragons. This is project is designed to have the ability to deal with low level concerns at a separate location. Significant injuries would need to be dealt with in the Infirmary and I have already toyed with the idea of establishing a specific signal of sorts to advise the Infirmary that such an injury is coming to the ward - if they have been by the clinic first, that is."

Tyne eyed the woman. If Apprenticing was a deal-breaker, then she would have to consider re-talking with Master Larsin. But he had not suggested such a thing for the very reason she herself considered it a bad idea. "I am not going to go into extreme specifics - but all you need to know is that I... lost my own dragon a few turns ago. For that reason alone, I cannot be trusted in the Infirmary for extended periods of time." She managed a straight face and her voice held. Right up until she had to say "lost". The falter and slight hoarseness was all that gave away the lurch in her stomach and tightening of her chest as she voiced the statement aloud. Her face held a tight sternness. "I am seeking only to learn about the care of firelizards to a basic degree that will allow me to take superficial injuries off the Infirmary's hands."

How could she call herself a "Dragonhealer" if the one dragon that she had been responsible for had died because of her own ambition? The hypocrisy of it made the lurch into her stomach twist into a sickening coil. No, she brought death. Not healing.

Ambrelli nodded to show she was following along, her fingers on her left hand drumming on the chair, while with her right hand she took notes.  She liked the idea of a clinic.  It would certainly assist with the traffic and free up some time in the infirmary.  But she did have concerns about this taking away from apprentice jobs.  Basic care questions could be answered by them after a certain point.  But, she supposed there were plenty of other tasks she could assign them if they didn't have to deal with a basic flitter pet question.

"Would you be looking to apprentice with us?" she held up her hand to forestall an immediate response.  "It wouldn't be a requirement, but it would make things easier in many ways.  And with your experience, I daresay you'll learn fast."

"It was a long trek here," she told him, whistling softly to her wher who sidled up to her and sniffed the boy from top to to toe. "Snakes had already gotten the rest of his clutch."

"Yeah, ma and da had two BIG whers, bronze and gold. The senior journeyman I met here, who enrolled me in the craft officially, had a real small wher! Is she a whelp still? Uh... Diagir, that's the guy." Reitz nodded eagerly.
