Well, word traveled fast. She'd been too hopeful that somehow he wouldn't know unless she told him. Which she was going to, honest.

"Ah, Paly?" she said, swallowing hard.

OOC: Ooops, thanks for the poke.

"That's good advice," Kassia said. "You're lucky. At other Weyrs you'd just be doing chores all the time. But what are you hoping to Impress? I mean, besides a dragon."

"Ah, here!" Sonnellion unwrapped the cloth around the metal egg sculpture and held it up for Razelth to see. "It's not much, but I made it as a personal project in Smithing lessons. I'm surprised I found enough metal for it, but I did it. I hope it's okay." Truth be told, Sonnellion was actually very proud of the egg and thought it to be his greatest work ever. "I love my craft and hope to use it when I'm a dragonrider one day. Maybe make my own dagger and harness buckles."

Scarleoth carefully tracked Mareeth's movements, letting his wings gently guide him to try to save his strength until that last moment. A brown and two bronzes? This was going to be difficult to win. Thankfully, this blue was a fast little thing. All he had to do was to outlast the others and Mareeth would be in his claws and his sway. {{You've but met me once, Mareeth. If you knew me better, you'd know that I have a nice stash of trinkets stored away that you may like. Though such a delightful green such as yourself probably has no need for such things.}}

Seteieth always had prided himself on his speed and agility. The large wings his parents had gifted him with allowed him to catch the winds and currents that other dragons might miss. Add onto that his renowned agility and this flight was in the bag. He kept a laser-focused attention on Mareeth's actions and kept himself at the ready to make a swift adjustment to his own flight path. He heard how smug Scarleoth was and grunted. {{Ignore the petulent children wishing to give you toys. You don't need a child, you need an adult. I am that adult.}}

{{Yes, it is a very nice egg, isn't it?}} Razelth replied, gazing fondly down at the indicated egg. {{It's one of my favorites as well.}} Of course, so was every single other egg, at one time or another. Very carefully, she brush away some errant sand with the edge of a wing and settle the egg more securely in its sandy perch.

The mention of a present brought her attention back to Sonnellion. {{A gift? How sweet! What is it?}}

Ambrelli had been discussing a rather mundane subject with Apprentice Dytha, having grown quite impressed by the young woman's abilities and understanding.  She had quite a handle of some rather obscure aspects of dragonology, and it was wonderful to see someone like her thriving, despite several less than ideal circumstances.  Merck was off somewhere playing -- perhaps even with Ponth -- and was absent from her shoulder.

She had just finished her conversation with Dytha and moved away to go make notes for Candidate Apprentice Yiyu's next learning assignment and chores.  She also needed to finish making a list of the things that she thought Tyne would need to set up the remote clinic.  The woman was quite remarkable, that HAF ability of hers could be very useful.  Ambrelli was still figuring out exactly how though.  Perhaps even having the gold and a couple others follow during Fall and alert them of what they'd have coming in.  Being able to be prepared with even an extra minute's notice could be useful.  She was determined to get the woman to actually apprentice with them, but she didn't want to be pushy.  And she needed to teach her some formal medicine for flits.  She scribbled notes down, absently playing with a gold earring that dangled from her ear and had been caught in her chocolate curls.

She was lost in thought so deeply that she did not hear the strange voice call out to Dytha.

Something rose up and tightened her throat. No one had ever offered her the hand of friendship, or love, really. Clearing her throat quietly, she spoke in her gentle way:

"I remember. Do you remember how I felt? That I wasn't worthy? I don't think that anymore. And it's because of you."

Impulsively, she reached over and took Rennitz's hand, squeezing it in her delicate fingers.

Cremsden laughed. "No, though I can see that too. No, credit in this case seems to go to this fellow." He nodded towards Bitey who was curled asleep on his desk. "Apparently he decided that if he couldn't fly to go make friends he would bring them to him."

Re: Can You Tell Me What You Did Wrong? Attn Kyrel, Aruthiel

Cremsden set down his pen. "Let's be clear on something," he said firmly. "Riders swear. You come in here in the middle of a bad Fall and you're going to hear language that will make their ears burn - and not all of it from riders either, shells, I can let loose a decent volley or two when the occasion suits. When people are scared or in pain they won't think to watch their language, and yes, pushy won't be the least of it, particularly if they have a lifemate injured. I need to know what specifically you thought unacceptable behaviour because it looks like this is going to need to be written up into a report and frankly 'we thought he was rude' right now is not cutting it."

Furrowing a brow she wondered why he would want to know.  It was Z'go.  Exactly what happened?  Aruithil looked from Kyrel to Cremsden, then back to Kyrel.  He was new, therefore it fell to her to explain what had happened.  "Well," she began.  "Z'go arrived.  He came in demanding to see you.  I told him that you were busy but he insisted and was rude about it."  She realized that there were details she was willing to leave out, but something in her... didn't let her.  "I... I told him that he was being rude and to ask nicely.  He did so and I went to get you. I left Kyrel to find him a cot."

She wanted to ask what was wrong with Z'go but she knew better; especially if the brownrider had asked specifically for privacy.  Aruithil looked over to Kyrel, so he could finish his part of the story.

After stepping into the flight room, pitching her dragon's harness aside, Sahari had half a moment to wonder to herself which one was the greenrider before - nope, definitely the one taking off his shirt. Her smile curved into a cocky smirk at the caress, and she started unbuttoning her own jerkin. The flightlust hadn't stolen all her reason away yet - but she knew from experience that some stains, once set, never quite came out of leather.

Oachayth banked, spiralling in a cockscrew as the green turned, and wheeled after the mocking Mareeth. He wasn't trying to pull ahead of the other challengers - yet - but conserved energy and bided his time, keeping a little above the others, ready to plummet like a hawk at the first mistake. He would catch her before she knew she wanted to be caught.

"Absolutely," N'met stated somberly. "Greenriders and blueriders were scum, females of either were viewed as absolute abominations, and candidates were less than drudges. Any brownriders who flew a gold were severely disciplined unless they somehow became Weyrleader, but Faranth help them the next time a bronzerider took over. *Between* was a paradise compared to there."

She was hoping that she'd Impress, first, but there was no guarantee of that.

Cremsden had the vague memory niggling at his brain that he had promised at some point to go and talk to Larsin for Tyne and he had meant to! And then Arden had arrived and he had spent the next few sevendays somewhere  between working and endless baby holding, and sometimes holding a baby while working because life was like that. It was exhausting, but mostly still good exhausting so that was okay.

But a promise was a promise so off he headed when he did remember to the DragonHealer side of the Infirmary. Round a corner and no. No, that wasn't right.

He stopped a moment, staring and checking reality. It wouldn't be the first time, particularly when tired, that his brain had decided to play tricks and insert memories into reality. But no, he was still at Arolos, this was still home, this was his Infirmary, everyone was safe.

But if this was reality no-one was safe.

"Dytha," he said after a long long moment, eyes glued to the Healer the apprentice - his apprentice, his to protect - had been talking to. "Come here a moment, could you?" He looked, though he was unaware of it, as though suddenly taken ill, colour drained from his face. On his shoulder Bitey muttered to himself and shifted uneasily, recognising the signs that his human was having a fear-reaction and preparing to need to snap him out of it.
