Volly, for his part, whistled apologetically, hunkered lower.

"Well, I'm the one paying for his oats, but at this point I suspect he considers himself to be Shalia's," Sh'ain chuckled.  "She's been caring for him for Turns now, while I've barely visited.  Really should change that, but..." Re: I Miss Having A Klah Monkey Attn Margana

Laurie

Margana looked up from the complaint she was reading. One person too many had come to her with stupid complaints, so now if they wanted to file a grievance, they had a form to fill out. Funny how it deterred 60% of the whiners. She was considering making the form even more obnoxious, to weed out even more.

"You want me to go steal klah from the guards?" she asked. "I'm not sure that would go over well. And I don't have the tight shirts and short skirts that Shalia did, so I doubt they'd let me get away with it." She did know where she could get her hands on some klah, but didn't want to show her hand yet.

"When are you going to replace Shalia anyway?"

On Sat, Nov 7, 2020 at 5:27 PM Laura Walker <shewhoguards@...> wrote:
For the past two weeks your character has really wanted something. What do they want? Do they try to get it? How? Do they succeed?

"Margana." There was a coaxing tone in R'tal's voice, the one he mostly used on K'ren when he really wanted something and suspected K'ren would disapprove. "Margana, there's no klah left."

He'd eked out what he could get his hands on for as long as he could. Being Weyrleader did have certain advantages. But now it was also gone.

With Shalia it would have been easy. He would just have asked her to go steal it from someone. With Margana-- he looked at her hopefully. "Can you go see if anyone else has any left?" And then take it. With or without their knowledge. "The Guards might. They always have good klah."

"Tend to find somewhere needs a bit of work doing, stop until it's done and then move on." He scowled a little. "Had a bit of a run of bad luck last job, Holder's son took a dislike to me so I was looking for somewhere new and someone said you needed rocks clearing. I can do that sure enough; can turn my hand to most things -- bit of clearing greenery for a hold that's not keeping up with it, bit of fence repair, or painting, or-- if it's needed I can do it." Which was a confident assertion for a man who looked more like he should be having a peaceful retirement somewhere.

Re: Look What I Found! Att: Aicha

The appearance of a dragon had set up a flurry of activity and talk. The most common idea was that there was news of the upcoming Threadfall, or some unfortunate news from the Weyr. People chattered as they welcomed the Rider, then gradually fell quiet when Yeha called for those of Candidate age to gather.

Aicha was among those few young people, feeling ambivalent about it, but she stepped forward. Not many would deny a Dragonrider's request.

Run with me, have a look around (DWC 11/14 attn: Garatt)

Amy Frazey

Aicha leaned against the door of her runner stall, eyes closed, her forehead pressed to his. It was only her first full day at Arolos weyr, and she was still in shock over the way she'd come to be here. Being Searched was unexpected, but she wasn't altogether unhappy about it.

"At least I got to bring you with me, Cade." Aicha raised her head and opened her eyes, one hand rubbing the side of her mount's neck. "I won't be totally alone here. Not that it's that far to get back home. How about let's go have a run and look around, huh?" Riding would soothe and calm them both.
