"They'll be Hatching in a couple days," Karla said. "Zari wouldn't let me give them away until now. I think she wanted to be sure they were ready. It's her first Clutch, which is also why she's here."

(OOC: Since I've got the thread going with Zy'fen too, let's just have these conversations happening at different times.)

"Oh, um...you--you're welcome?" Karla said, voice rising into a squeak. Shards, she was such a ninny, but he was being so nice. "I, uh, try to be nice." Zari lay down on the table next to Ranger with a superior look on her face.

[[Is Zari laughing at me?]] she asked Eglanth.

{{Don't be silly dear. She's merely chortling.}}

She wanted to say something else, but couldn't speak. Instead, she stared at Zy'fen with wide eyes, like a herdbeast in the path of a hungry dragon.

Shadow Search (attn: Yeha/Maemi)

Gayatri slid off Edyth's back and turned to look around the small cothold. It reminded her of the one she'd grown up in, and for a moment, Gayatri wondered if they'd ever go back there.

Then she glanced at the people who were beginning to crowd around. Someone here had caught Edyth's attention. ((Which one was it, dear heart?))

They were shadowing a Searchrider that day for a reason. A couple of weeks ago, Gayatri had figured out that Edyth had Searching abilities, so now here they were.

Edyth swung her head from side to side, then focused on one face in particular. {{This one.}} And the information was also relayed to Owkobith. {{It's her.}}

Zy'fen'ssmiled widened for a moment, then he pulled away after a few seconds. He really was sweaty, and he didn't want to push it, not with a Goldrider. "Both Nykantiath and her beautiful Rider have good taste, then. And I honestly appreciate the attention. Things are still a bit rocky, but I'm getting there."

The bronzerider hesitated and then followed, though he kept a respectful distance. (Vizslath, call for a Healer.) He told the bronze, just in case. "Is- is she gonna be okay?" He asked, after a moment, hesitating again before tugging off his jacket, holding it out in offer. "Here. Until.. Until she's got something better."

((A healer comes.)) Vizslath told him a moment later.

"My dragon says a Healer is coming to see to her."

D'jarin swore- his call of alarm too late- and then splashed in after her, gritting his teeth even as he reached down, helped her back onto her feet. "Are you hurt? Can you stand?" He'd seen the way she fell, and kept his grip light but firm until she could answer. "I'm going to move us out of the water, okay?"
The shock of the cold water and the painful ache in her ankles made it
difficult for Andronda to say anything, so she simply nodded and let
him lift her up. Her guards were on her a moment later, pushing the
fellow aside and ushering her to the shore, keeping the rest of the
gathering folks away, though the broken ice did a fairly good job of
that on its own. Still, an accident always drew attention, and her
guards were overly cautious, as they should be, even if this was, by
all accounts, a natural accident.

Zy'fen gave Andronda an appreciative glance then, and his smile took on a hint of his old flirtatious manner. "You look nice today, Lady. Too nice for a sweaty one-legged like me." There was a touch of self deprecation behind the words. "But it's nice of you to talk to us." Again, he smiled, then raised both eyebrows before daring to settle an arm around the gold rider's shoulders.
Oh, that was a bit brash of him, but Andronda didn't pull away, or
push his arm off of her shoulders. The feeling of smugness she felt
from Nykantiath had Andronda pretty sure that her gold may have put
him up to it, through his own dragon. Perhaps he'd been quite the
popular fellow before this unfortunate accident, and like the therapy
and the wooden leg, this was another part of him recovering. And
really, she had no qualms, so long as he didn't get too fresh with
her. So she smiled at him and let him keep his arm around her for the
moment.

"Of course! And well, a gold rider is supposed to dress well, I
suppose. Nykantiath certainly wants me to. And if I'm not rummaging
through dusty store rooms or the like, I see no reason not to do so."

(OOC: Melody Maker, Eglanth)

Somehow, his flirtatiousness was giving her confidence in herself.  In a rare show of coquettishness, she smiled. "Even if I was selling them, I wouldn't charge you," she said, though her face by now was a bright red. Why did I do that?

{{Why not, dear. You need to be more confident around people. Just relax and enjoy.}}

Karla blushed as he looked at her. She wasn't used to flirting with men--rumors of what her mother was like made sure of that. Oh, Eglanth rose as often as a green will, but she hadn't made any permanent  There was one...but he had a girlfriend. And she'd been interested in her brother's best friend, but he was more interested in her brother.

"Um--" she was tongue tied for a moment. "Yes. It's one of my favorites. I'd love to just keep them all, but right now two is enough for me. Zari here is Ranger's daughter," she indicated the handsome bronze lying on the table, one eye open watching things, "and he's full Callamere. And the bronze who caught Zari is also half Callamere, so you'll have a smart flitter on your hands. Which could be a good or bad thing." She blushed again. Why was she babbling? She never talked this much, unless it was to her friend.

Questions to ask {Jasin, Insera}

Kouga

It hadn't originally been in her plans, hadn't even been in her thoughts truth be told, but things change. She was a guard now, or rather only a guard now and while it wasn't a subject that was talked about she had noticed the surge in guards with Whers. They had originally made the WherGuards, but Whers really were rather helpful for their work and she could understand it. Baba and Wany were great for small things, but Baba was really a mean little tunnelsnake and Wany was about as helpful as a smokeless weyrling most days when it came down to it. Of course they were just a blue and a green, but we'll they just were as helpful as she would have liked and with her size they weren't even all that great for intimidation or anything of the sort because she made them look not as large with her larger size. In short it had come down to practicalities. She would like something that could help her in her job and would be both smart and large enough to be effective at that.

She knew she was no expert by any means but she did have a mental bond already with her two flits to help there. She had the experience with her Mama's blue Seek to help with behavior and size. It wasn't perfect and she would be hoping for an impression instead of bonding like Rena had to Seek, but it was a reference and what gave her the confidence to at least write the letter a couple days after the Frost Fayre:

~To Master Insera

My name is Jasin. I am one of the guards at the Weyr and after recent happenings was hoping we could talk. I was hoping to inquire about the possibility of getting one of the newer line of guard type Whers the hall has been breeding. I am writing to ask a time you may be free to talk and weather it would be more convenient if I was able to come to you for such a talk or if you would prefer to meet when you made it here next.

WeyrGuard Jasin~

She wasn't sure how often the master did make it here, but if she was going to ask a favor might as well make it as easy on the master as she could. Who knew maybe it would help her that she was willing to wait and make any accommodations the other women needed or wanted? Well she wouldn't know until she sent the letter so she rolled it up and made her way to the runners, she would have used Want, but didn't have a visual for the green so opted for the human delivery method knowing it may take a bit longer, but that it would at least make it to where it belonged.

OOC: hope ya don't mind a thread and couldn't come up with a reason for her to have met Insera so ya just used human to send message heh...

"It was very generous." T'son agreed. "..If you're treating to this, though, I'm going to buy us food." He gave E'thari a broad grin. "Thank you again- though I doubt much could be sweeter than your company."

And he was going to buy something nice for E'thari, of course.

"I've never had chocolate before." T'son admitted, following E'thari willingly enough, curiosity sparked. "Have you?" A pause, and then he was beaming at his... friend? Lover? "Thank you." he hummed. "Are you sure?"

Perhaps he should start looking for something to buy for E'thari.
"Once, a few turns back, and it was just a tiny sliver. Me and my
sibs all scraped together the marks to get a piece to share. It was
one of the best things I've ever tasted."

There had been plenty of other things his siblings could have gotten
with that mark, but all of them had agreed that the taste - for that
had all they'd really been able to afford between them - had been
worth it. And the benefit of being a dragon rider now - well, a
weyrling, but still - was that he actually had marks of his own, now.
Especially with the generous bonus the Weyrwoman had given them all,
plus the bit he'd one and saved from the races at the Midsummer
Gather. So he could afford to buy them both a drink to share.

"I'm sure! We can thank the Weyrwoman for it. That bonus was awfully
nice of her, I wasn't expecting anything like that."

Re: (Frost Fayre) Come Get Your Hot Chocolate - E'thari/T'son

All the way from the south came an unusual caravan. Chocolate had only started to become well known in the south and southern areas of the north continent. This was the first time that the caravans were sent for a trial to the frozen Gather. One of the new offerings was a hot drink made of chocolate that had been discovered after a gift from the caravan's patron, Weyrwoman Kassia, to High Reaches' Weyrwoman, Wygelle. With some tweaking came an expensive, but warming drink for those willing to pay the steep price.
E'thari had wanted to treat T'son to something nice at the Frost
Fayre. Something they wouldn't normally be able to find back at
Arolos. The smell of something rich and sweet drew the blue weyrling
towards a stall that was buzzing with people around it. He heard
something about a hot drink made with chocolate, and knew that he and
T'son had to have some. Even if they just shared a drink, it would be
something worth trying.

"T'son, let's give this a try. We can share a drink, my treat."

OOC: A small drink is a mark, but they're giving very small tastes for taste testing for those who want to come say hello.
