#stabbing If You Think You're Getting Away Attn Bl'by, Andronda, Cuylar, T'baran #stabbing

Laura Walker

It was all fun and games right up until someone got stabbed. And then suddenly it wasn't fun any more.

Bl'by might usually be the gentlest man you might be likely to meet but he was also big, an he'd spent long enough at Fort to know that sometimes big made a difference. When things kicked off, the big guy was far less likely to become collateral damage, and so by extension was anyone stood with him. Panicking crowds weren't a good place to be for smaller people, someone heavier could keep their feet if it turned to a stampede.

Not that that didn't mean that he wasn't getting the shells out of here regardless.

Trying to keep a tight lid on rising panic (did someone just say the Weyrwoman had been stabbed?) he kept an arm around the girl he'd been dancing with, trying to protect her from getting pulled away in the crowd and trampled. "Miss, I don't know what's going on, but I'm going to get you out of here safe, okay?" His voice sounded steadier than he felt, though he couldn't recall her name right now. Too busy scanning the crowd, using his size to let him push through it. He spotted a familiar mop of hair at last, and breathed a mental sigh of relief. "T'baran! Over here!" Get the people he cared about together, get everyone out and then Weyrleadership could do the crazy Weyrleadership thing somewhere they weren't. Didn't matter where you were, when Weyrwomen were getting hurt blue and greenriders were collateral damage.

He scanned the crowd again, searching. Cuylar was--where the shells was Cuylar?

Gather Dance: Garden Variety Homicide! ((Attn: T'quinn, Calyse))

T'quinn's first Aolos Gather experience had been amazing! Despite the restrictions placed on him as a weyrling, he'd had a wonderful time. It had started with getting very lucky with a Arolos Cup bet, on a runner that had clearly been the undercanine of the group of contestant runners. He'd spent that first day considering what to spend the marks he'd won on and examining the stalls and talking with a few merchants here and there. He splurged a little and bought Wycker a gift, and himself a nicer shirt for the Gather Dance. But he had taken a little more time to consider the gift he was wanting to get for his totally amazing brown lifemate. He knew what he *wanted* to get for Aeliseth, but had to find someone who could do it if it wasn't already available for sale. Thankfully, it had been available and T'quinn had been able to surprise his brown with a series of a half-dozen elegantly-made glass runner figurines in different poses that were about the size of two palms together (about twice the size of normal figurines that could fit in the center of a palm), packed nice and securely in a slightly large padded box for transport. He'd managed to keep his brown from realizing he'd gotten a gift for him, planning to surprise Aeliseth with this when they got to move into their own weyrs.

And now it was the last day, he'd worn his nice new shirt and vest combo that the tailor had suggested would look the best on him when he'd purchased it, the white shirt left gabing a little at his throat with the heat and the vest a very nice looking brocade in a series of different shades of blue and trimmed in brown. with his weyrling knots hanging from his shoulder. The tailor had spoken true though and so with the fit of his new vest he looked quite good...not that he'd noticed the many admiring looks tossed his way, of course.

He was standing at the edge of the dance floor, watching the dancers as well as keeping an eye out for Wycker, and sipping at the last of a cup of juice. His foot was tapping to the music being played, but he held himself back from joining in, used to and more than happy to continue to just watch from the outside.

((OOC: This is set *before* the stabbing, of course.))

Re: [ Gather Dance ] Murder on the Dance Floor [ Attn. ALL ]

C'fan looked up in surprise, having not been dancing but instead passing by it to get to the drink bowl again. His eyes flicked from Nadja to Sina and widened at the blood, dropping his cup in shock. It took a moment for the bronzerider to realize that he had in fact been accused of stabbing Sina.

[ Gather Dance ] Murder on the Dance Floor [ Attn. ALL ]

Rogue Kakashi

“There she is, my sweet bubbly,” Niffin said, leaning over to speak to his wife as they danced.  He spun with her over the dance floor, keeping in tune with the music as their feet expertly danced them from one side to the other.  He was a bit taller than his wife, so he spotted her first.

As the song ended and lady’s choice was called, Niffin looked to his wife and gave her the biggest smile.  “Remember the plan,” he reminded her, slipping back into the crowd.

Nadja fluffed her voluminous skirts and dabbed at her forehead with one sleeve. She surveyed the crowd again, this time from the sidelines, and wiped sweat from her brow as the next dance organised itself. It wasn't hard to track the Weyrwoman - she was tall, after all, and had such an odd hair colour. She had expected her to be fitter, but then who was she to judge?

With a final fluff of her skirts, and a broad smile, she weaved through the milling dancers on her way to interrupt the mark and the man she had asked to dance, and raised her voice: "Oh, dear, it's ladies' choice and we both seem to have picked the same man!" She lifted her hand and waved, both to catch their attention and to signal to Niffin.

Sina turned to face the new voice with a tense smile on her face. She wasn’t thrilled to be chased off the second choice she had for the dance.

“I asked first.”

“She did ask first,” Sh’ain agreed, turning towards the new woman.  Who wasn’t even somebody he knew, so his face bore a bit of surprise on it.

Nadja had played her part, distracting the two dancers, giving Niffin his chance.  Pulling a hood over his head, the man slipped his hand into his jacket and grabbed ahold of something and he weaved through the dancers finding their partners.  He could feel his heart beating in his chest, excitement rising as a huge grin grw on his lips.  He couldn’t help it; Niffin had been born for this.

He ran straight into Sina, or rather, as he thought, “Kassia,” bumping into her justas his arm slipped out of his jacket, revealing the cold steel of his weapon.  He plunged it into the woman, pulled it out and stabbed her again, this time pushing her into Shain as he turned and dashed off, pushing through the crowd as he undid his cloak.

The plan was simple, get out of the crowd, find *the spot*, change, and meet up with Nadja later… as for now, he had to get away as fast as he could--he’d just stabbed who he thought was the Weyrwoman of Arolos Weyr, after all!

Nadja bumped into Sh'ain as her husband made his move, and faked a stumble, grabbing at the rider's arm to try and distract him as the hit happened. Then, straightening, she took in the scene with a calculating glance - and covered her mouth in horror that, while not completely genuine, was made somewhat more real due to her dislike of blood.

"Oh, dear, what's…!" And she pointed a sleeved arm toward the other rider on the fringes of the dance, the solitary bronzerider they had picked out earlier as an easy mark - C'fan. Her voice went high and shrill, shrieking out: "He attacked the Weyrwoman!"

Sina never knew what happened. She just knew one moment she was standing there and next there was blinding pain as the knife sank into her side. Only the fact that she had moved at the last moment kept the stabbing from being deadly, and instead it was only a bloody graze.

She gasped and grabbed at the spot where blood bloomed and then started screaming.

At the other woman’s cry, Sh’ain turned towards Kassia, or at least the last place he’d seen her… and there she still was, talking to B’lin, definitely not being attacked.  And then came Sina’s gasp, and he turned back, only for her to start screaming bloody murder in his ear.  “Sina?” he said, blinking in confusion.

A moment later, Kodah was at Kassia's side. He had made a point of being inconspicuous but nearby, but he still cursed his response time, feeling far too long had passed since he heard screeching to when he had reached his ward.

A quick once over, and he was certain she had not been attacked. And he had seen no one unidentified approach her.

Just to be sure, he asked, "Are you all right?" and resumed scanning the crowd around her.

Sina clutched at Sh’ain. “Help me! Help me!”

Next to B’lin, Kassia stopped dancing and turned to the screaming woman and her mate. Then Kodah was at her side. “Sh’ain! We have to make sure he’s okay.”

“I’ll get him,” B’lin promised, turning to try and work out what was going on over there. It was a few steps before he recognised the woman, and then it wasn’t a walk but a run. “What--what happened?”

As everything happened at once, Nadja slipped away in the confusion with a flourish of her skirts, head low.

Guards started turning up and Kassia took Kodah with her off to the side.  To the other guards she said, “Find out what happened. Clear the floor.”

“CLEAR THE DANCEFLOOR” one of the guards yelled as the harpers suddenly stopped playing, their attention drawn to the assassination attempt.

Re: More of us now? {Zenise, Kalain}

Kalain, who had also been there since the beginning but had only recently gotten his wher (by total accident), was also on a walk. He took one with Sleek every night, getting her used to her leash and getting her exercise. She was getting better at the leash, but that was relative. That night was a better night. They hadn't had too many arguments over the attachment between him and the harness and she had only refused to walk briefly. It was an improvement. She spotted the green wher ahead and the chance of her stopping went out the window. Now he had the opposite problem.
"Slow," Kalain said, tugging on the leash.

~Twolegs. Greenwher!~ She pulled but he pulled back and she slowed.
Thankfully she was still only about the size of a medium sized dog and
had to slow.

"You slow down or we don't go see them."

~Mean!~ Sleek protested, but slowed.

"Better." He let her proceed at a slower pace toward the green and person. <<

Green Runner perked up a bit at the sound and smell of another coming
closer. She had 'watched' the new ones that had come around, but
hadn't tried to personally reach out to them just yet. With knowing
the little gold was coming though now seemed like a good time to
correct that. The sturdy green reached out to Sleek moving just enough
to alert her person that someone was coming ((Hi LilPup)) she greeted
the gold who was still much smaller than her at this point ((Zeni
LilGold)) she added to her human once she was sure who was coming.

Zenise followed her green's gaze spotting Kalain and the gold
tunnelwher. She knew she had heard the wher's name several times by
now, but for the life of her she couldn't remember what it was right
now. "Taking her for a walk Kalain?"

ooc: figure they would at least know each other's names since they've
probably been in class together for a bit now. Right? If not ignore
that she knew his name.

Don't Think That I've Forgotten You (Diagir, Ziya, Diagirsk, Insera)

Coming home from the Gather, Diagir set his box of goggles down and pulled off his boots. A soft click had two sets of paws walking towards him and two heads raising in hopeful unison. The man's face softened tenderly as either hand reached out to gently caress brown and gold nose with a sigh.

"Aye, so you missed me, eh?" He asked them.

{Always,} Diagirsk rumbled with eyes of deep gold.

{Ziya wait,} the queen replied with eyes the same color as her hide. Diagir chuckled.

"I love it when you do that, Ziya-dear. And my darling Diagirsk, that gold works so well with your hide. Brown and gold... perhaps I'll have my next Gather clothes made that color. Ah, but then it would match both of you, wouldn't it?" Diagir's grin grew wider at both the idea and the happy warbles his whers gave at the thought. "I'm sorry that I have to be out all day, loves. I'm helping Insera at the Wherhall stall. You remember Insera, yes?"

{Mad twoleg, yes?} Ziya asked and Diagir had to hold back a laugh. {Mad 'glory leave, become Vedrarsk. Why mad?}

{'gir bond whers alltime in colddark,} Diagirsk added, using his old name for Crom. {Whers go off new people, help mines 'n guard. Good whers, 'Gir no be trouble.}

"Yes, those are good points, my boy," Diagir asked. "But Insera is mad because Vainglory's bond just snapped out of nowhere and she bonded to that rider. She didn't even know him before bonding. That's different than when you're a whelp when you're small and manageable. This was an adult wher walking around with a tenuous bond with me. I should have  known and that there is the main reason that Insera is angry. And she's right. I should have known. But there's no use in 'should have's when we cannot change the past. Now I deal with my punishment and work more on training you two."

{When train done, we together again?} Ziya asked wistfully. Diagir sighed and rubbed her headknobs.

"I'm not going to abandon you, Ziya, but neither you nor Diagirsk can be at my side all the time," Diagir explained. "You need to learn how to behave without me, and I need to know how to act without you. If something happened, I need to know how to react if you're not there."

{If whers there, nothing happen,} Ziya stated firmly with a nod from Diagirsk.

"And what if we get separrated, like in a rockslide?" Diagir pointed out. "Or a cavein?" He could feel the growing apprehension in his gold and sighed. "Ziya... You're not losing me and I'm not leaving either of you. Diagirsk is my partner and has been for decades. You've been my queen for Turns. You know how long I've wanted you because I've told you so often. Diagirsk made my life perfect. You completed it." He couldn't miss the deep pulse of pride from both whers and rubbed down their necks tenderly. "You're both wonderful whers and I wouldn't trade you for the biggest, shiniest dragon. I'm hoping to be a Master Whercrafter some day and I need to have the single best whers on Pern."

{Already have,} Ziya pointed out like it was obvious and Diagirsk whistled in agreement. Diagir laughed and shook his head.

"The pair of you, really."

Later that night, Diagir sat down to write Insera a report of the day.

"The whers' behavior after the Gather was most acceptable to me. They approached me quietly when I entered my den and had a calm conversation with me. They asked about Vainglory/Verdraisk and why you were irate with me and I did my best to explain to them. We discussed why I leave them here more and how it will help us in the long run. They seemed to understand as much as a wher can and didn't argue further nor did they display anger or anxiety. From my biased position, even when trying to look at the situation from an outside perspective, that conversation was a major improvement. Again, I will defer to you in all things.

(gather) And wher makes three (JP - Andronda/Insera)

Jerzy Tobin

Andronda strolled through the stalls of the Gather, heading in
particular towards the Wherhall’s stall. Marbles was a bit older now,
and Andronda had been working with the flit to get basic training
down, so that he was a bit more controllable. He was also less
skittish, now, which was a big help. So, it was onto the next thing -
getting a wher. Human guards were great and all, but as Kassia had
pointed out, it wasn’t always convenient for a bunch of armed
guardsmen to be following you around all the time.

Spotting the tent she was looking for, Andronda quickened her pace.
She wanted to be able to speak with the Wherhall people before too
many other people began to show up.

“Excuse me,” Andronda began, entering the tent. “Who do I speak to
about getting a wher?”

Insera looked up from some paperwork. She looked up, ready to send the
woman back to Callamere, when she spotted the woman’s knots. “That’d
be me, m’lady. I assume you’re looking for one as a personal guard?”

“That’s right,” Andronda said, smiling politely. “Gold Rider,
Andronda, Ma’am. I was told your people breed the best, and that I
should come here when I was ready to acquire a wher.”

“Nice to meet you, goldrider.” Insera stood and gave a polite nod.
“You’ve come to the right place. The Weyrwoman let me know that you
might be coming to talk to me soon. I’m happy to talk to you about the
possibility. What do you know about whers and what having one as a
guard would mean?”

“Honestly? Very little, beyond the fact that they can be Impressed,
and some people use them as guards. I’m from the North, and we don’t
see very many whers. I was honestly very surprised to see Weyrwoman
Kassia with one at her side when I first met her, and I had a not so
pleasant encounter with Weyrleader R’tal’s wher that has left me a bit
nervous about getting one altogether. But at the same time, it’s not
always possible, or wanted, to have human guards at my side all the

I’m hoping that you can fill me in on what it would mean to Impress a
wher, and what all is needed to train it, and have it as a guard.”

“They’re harder to train than flits,” Insera said, “but a lot more
useful for protection. You can either bond or Impress them, but for
guarding you’ll want to Impress them. It’s very like being Impressed
to your beautiful gold, but a little less intense. Or so I’m told.
That can make it easier to explain things and train your wher, but if
you have a family your wher will see them as a duty to watch because
you care, at best. At worst, they can be hard to accept having extra
people around if they’re not introduced carefully. If you have any
children, you may want to consider bonding instead, even though that
has its own drawbacks.”

Andronda nodded as Insera spoke, making mental notes. “I have no
weyrmate, or children, at this time. But if I did down the line,
would an Impressed wher see the baby as a nestling? Or an interloper?
And I take it that the difference between Impressing and Bonding a
wher make a significant difference in training? Or how the training
is carried out?”

“Most likely they will them as an extension of you to guard,” Insera
said, “but if you’re looking for them to be affectionate to others,
you’ll be disappointed. Impressed whers love their handlers and
usually only tolerate others. Bonded whers can learn to be more
affectionate and if you’re looking for a family pet or protector, that
can be the better way. But they also can’t be spoken to by mind by
the handler, communication is only one way. Handlers have to train a
bonded wher like they’re canines, which can be harder. Especially for
more stubborn whers, because you won’t have your mind to force
compliance. As a goldrider, I’m sure you’re used to using your mind to
stay in control.”

“Yes, I am,” Andronda admitted. “Stubborn golds are what they are,
after all. And well, as long as the wher wasn’t going to attack the
baby if and when that ever happens, I’d be satisfied. And since that
is a future that is far off, its something I’d have time to plan and
train for. I’m not looking for a family pet, I’m looking for a
personal companion and guard. So, I guess Impressing the wher would
be the best bet.

As far as training goes, would I bring the wher to the wherhall to get
training? How long does training take? And would I begin just after
it hatches? How intelligent are they at Hatching?”

“They’re intelligent enough to start speaking and learning words and
need training from hatching,” Insera said. “We would recommend you
coming to the wherhall for some training, but we can also send a
trainer to work with you at the Weyr as well. I would recommend a blue
or a brown wher. We happen to have a clutch laid to be used for
guards, so you’ve come at a good time.”

“Would the color make a difference? Would a blue that was Impressed
to me defer to a brown or a bronze, that someone else had?”

Because while Kassia had suggested she get a brown, Andronda felt she
would be happier with a blue, if that was possible.

“If you’re concerned about interactions with other whers, a blue might
be a better choice,” Insera said. “A blue would defer when it comes to
territoriality, which might be a good thing if you’re working closely
with the Weyrwoman’s bronze, but of course that doesn’t mean they
wouldn’t protect you if the choice ever became whether to defer or
protect you. So a blue would be a fine choice.”

Ah, well, that was a relief for Andronda. “Then I think I would
prefer to go with a blue. And as far as training, I will be coming to
the Hall initially, but I may have to have a trainer come to me if
duties interfere. Just because I have time *now* doesn’t mean it's
going to stay that way. How soon before the egg hatches? And do I
care for it the same way I did my flit? Keep it in a container of
warm sand? And is it the same method for Impression? Feed it right

“Within the next couple of days. A sevenday at most. I’ll give you a
container to take with you, but keep it warm and keep an eye on it.
Make sure you have meat available at all times. You Impress just like
a flit. Spend some time cuddling and getting to know him the first
night, but starting the very next day start your training with basic

“Understood.” She could handle that. “And what sort of gear would I
need? I know a harness and leash, at the least, I’ve seen Kassia’s
wher with those. Anything else, though? And how much is the egg
going to run me?”

“You’ll go through a lot of goggles as your wher grows as well,”
Insera said. “Ten marks for the wher egg. You can get the rest for a
couple of marks as well.”

Well, it was a good thing gold riders were paid so much. And that she
had won some marks in the runner race, so it wasn’t as big a cut into
her purse as it could have been. But, it was also an investment, as
she was well aware.

“Right, then.” She reached for her belt pouch to pull out the marks.
“Here we go. I take it the gear is sold here as well, then? And how
fast do whers grow? And how big is a blue likely to get?”

“I can get you a leash and a harness. You can buy goggles at the stall
here. Your blue will be about three and a half feet at the shoulder
and a couple hundred pounds. More than big enough for your needs.”

“Sounds manageable. Thank you for answering all of my questions. Is
there anything else you think I should know, before we finish?”

“Nope,” Insera said. “We’re always here if you have any questions. Let
me just get your egg ready.”

She disappeared into the back and came back a short time later with a
bag specially made to hold the hot sand and the wher egg inside.

“Here you go.”

Andronda took the bag with care, peeking inside to look at the egg.
She’d have to get the rest of the gear and get back to the wher quick.
She didn’t want to risk it getting chilled or damaged.

“Thank you, thank you very much! You’ll be seeing me at the hall once
he’s hatched. Thank you for your time, and for the help.”

(#Gather) Shut up and Dance with Me JP Kassia/B'lin

The announcement had gone out to the dance at large. And Kassia’s announcement had gone to B’lin. Now they were off to the side a little and she repeated her words.

“I’m pregnant,” she said. “And you’re one of the possible fathers.”

“It’s--” There was a spark of excitement at that possibility. B’lin firmly stamped on it before he could get attached to it. “That seems.. Unlikely.”

Kassia raised an eyebrow. “I’m pregnant. I know how these things happen and you and I did that particular thing....multiple the right time frame.”

“Which I’ve done with..a fair few people in my time without babies happening,” B’lin said. “It’s--” he shrugged. “I figure I’d have more people telling me I’d done that by now if I could.”

“Maybe you have and just don’t know.” She shrugged. “I wouldn’t assume you can’t just because you don’t think it’s happened before. But whether you did it, or one of the others, I am pregnant and you’re as likely as either of my mates.”

“If I could, I’d be delighted,” B’lin said. “But--” But but, and he stopped that because there was no way to phrase it that wouldn’t offend, no way to explain that she’d done this once before Sarati was born and once had hurt, twice might be too much. “Do you want to go back to dancing?”

Kassia looked at the dance floor and then nodded. “Yeah,” she said quietly, sensing his hesitancy. “Anyway, I just wanted to tell you. You don’t have to do anything with the information if you don’t want.”

“Let’s.. Let’s just wait and see how things turn out,” B’lin suggested. “In the meantime..if you need anything..”

“In the meantime, we’re at a dance to have fun,” Kassia said, smiling at him and leaning in for a kiss. “I don’t believe we’ve ever danced before.”

The kiss was given, and B’lin glanced over to the floor where the dance had already begun. “Join this one or wait ‘til it’s done?”

“We can sneak in on this one,” Kassia said. “And then maybe tomorrow night we can do some private dancing.”

They slipped back in, mingling with the crowd unnoticed. No need to pay attention to one more brownrider and the anonymous girl he was dancing with. No need to pay attention at all.

And Shalia's question brought an even broader grin to her face. "I placed a 1/2nd mark on Hard Luck." She announced cheerfully. "Tell me, do I know how to pick them, or do I know how to pick them?" At those odds, her winnings came to a cool 25 marks, which was more than Dyrina typically earned in a year. So yes, it was shaping up to be a very, very good gather.

Regan Rose chirruped her recognition of the compliments the other two pets were giving her; shy she might be, but she was also still gold and knew what her just due was, and Shalia reached up to rub her headknobs.

"I think I'll ride with you, those bells might drive me to do something I'll regret," Shalia laughed, answering Valesa.  "They are pretty neat, though!  I just don't think I want them in my face while flying," she grinned.

"And I'm fine with stopping off at the bookies!  I need to collect my own winnings, I've been too busy running around with the stall to get back over there.  I bet on Sar, of course, and also WatchDragon.  Won almost 17 marks between them!  Who'd you bet on, Dy?"

OOC: Of course technically speaking only almost 7, but she doesn't know about losing the rest lol

"Hey Val, Shal." Dyrina greeted her friends cheerfully. "Oh, is that your new firelizard? She's beautiful!"
"And thanks." She added, with a grin for Valesa. "I quite like it myself." She flicked an errant braid over her shoulder, setting off the jaggle of bells. "I'm ready to go whenever you are. Oh, Val, Shal, do you mind if we stop off at the bookies first? I need to collect my winnings from the Arolos Cup."

"She's lovely. Dyrina, I just love the skirt! that is the coolest looking outfit I've ever seen. And the braids!" Valesa cocked her head. "We may need to get you a hat though. If it's too sunny out, your hair may get sunburned."
{{I don't know,}} Elioth said, {{if they could talk, probably more like person. If they couldn't, then I wonder if I'd be allergic to them.}}
Valesa didn't pay much attention to Elioth. "We ready to go? I can't wait!  It's a nice day and promises to be an even better night! Shal, who do you want to ride with?"

Re: Squeaky clean (attn Myatka, Nerenth)

Amy Frazey

Nerenth was grateful for Myatka's enthusiasm, though he thought it a bit odd. It was a wonderful way to relax, after the terror of His Zy'fen being Thread-eaten, and then chopped up - even though the chopping had saved his life. Nerenth had been in a near panic for several minutes while the Healers aided His rider.

While he relaxed and enjoyed the bath, Nerenth still kept mental tabs on Zy'fen, the worry over His being ever-present.

Gather Dance: You Make Me Feel Like Dancing ((Attn: Bronwynn, D'vik))

Bronwynn had enjoyed this Gather. Yes, she'd spent a whole lot of time manning her booth, but she'd gotten to step away occasionally to talk with people, check out some nearby booths, and have some fun. Now, however, the Harper Open had finished and the dancing was beginning and she had already packed and closed up her shop, ready for transport back to the Weyr with considerably lighter bags of clothes.

For this last day, she'd even changed her outfit to something a bit more daring even though the style was similar to the draping white dress she'd been wearing. This dress was a pale blue-silver color totally backless halter top that had a deep neckline down nearly to her belly-button. Thankfully, with her small chest it wasn't as indecent as it could have been. Around her waist were cords of fabric in that same color wrapped multiple times, helping the fabric to mold tight to her body, giving her the illusion of a curve at her waist. The dress's skirt fell to just above the ground, in the same flowing layers as her previous dress, so that it seemed to drift around her as she walked, slits placed here and there to catch glimpses of her legs through the fabric.

She was standing on the edge of the dance floor, watched the Weyrwoman and Lord Holder's Heir up on stage, and then when the dancing began she looked around for a partner. She had a bit of energy now, and she wanted to dance! She spotted D'vik after a moment, and headed over to him with a smile glad he was still around. Blush tinting her cheeks in the fading light, Bronwynn tilted her head to look up at him and asked a bit shyly even after the time they'd spent together "Would you like to dance, D'vik?"

Gather Dance: So We Might As Well Keep Dancing ((Attn: Sagishi, Aiyana))

Aiyana had spent a lot of the Gather days with the trio of weyrmates and their just over 3 turns old daughters, and had enjoyed herself greatly. Her clothing over the three days had been nice, but compared to how she'd seen some of the other women dressing it might have been just a touch on the conservative side. It wasn't long sleeves and tutlenecks by any means, but the backless dresses, daring necklines, and so very short skirts were very much not this girl's style. Instead, while her 'corset-type' dresses had helped to accentuate her shape and assets, the dress had had short sleeves and the neckline of the corset dress had been high enough not to seem like she was spilling out. She'd learned early the best type of necklines when spending so much time around guys who were taller than her, and which necklines to avoid so as not to be indecent. Her skirts had all been at least knee length, but light and flowy around her legs.

Tonight, as the Gathers last day and in anticipation of the dance, Aiyana had worn a pale blue corset-dress with a slightly lower more square neckline that showed a bit more, although the dress still had a back so as to cover her scars. The fabric, however, was thin and clung to her body tightly down to her waist where it then flared out in a longer skirt cut with long slits so that it flowed around and showed off her legs as they peeked through. She'd even found a pair of heels that she'd decided would be comfortable enough to wear and dance in, that boosted her height just a couple more inches. She'd even left her hair very dark brown hair loose and straight down her back instead of braiding it up like she normally would

Aiyana was sitting at a table with the trio, the two toddlers sitting amongst the 4 adults, when the crowd quieted and she turned to listen to the announcement of the dance beginning. Smiling softly as the Harpers began to play, Aiyana was content for a moment to listen to the music. After a moment though, as her foot began to tap under the table and she watched the couples filling the floor, when a slightly slower song began to play Aiyana considered asking one of the trio of mates to dance. Turning from the dance floor to glance at each of them a moment, still considering if she should ask, when her eyes turned toward Sagishi she hesitated and glanced back to the dance floor.

Finally, after another moment, she turned back toward Sagishi and asked in a voice that was just slightly hesitant, as if unsure what his answer would be "Sagishi...would you like to dance? If that's ok?" That last question was directed at all of the mates at the table as her green eyes flicked from Sagishi to Tori and Akisu before going back to the first man.

Gather Dance: I Know I Like Dancing With You ((Attn: Kinara, Melody, and Kiloka)

Kinara and Melody had been having a blast during the Gather with Kiloka. Each day Kinara had arrived with Melody and Kiloka and made sure that the little girl had fun. They went by stalls and looked at all the pretty items on sale, but they spent more time visiting the runners that Melody had already shown interest in. The little girl loved looking at the 'pretty ponies', and so Kinara did her best to foster that interest hoping that her young daughter would find a path different from her own. As much as she loved her green lifemate, she wanted her baby girl to find her own much safer path to follow.

Now the trio were sitting at a table around the dancing floor, the end of the Gather upon them after having enjoyed listening to each of the Harper Open entries. Then the floor was open for dancing and was flooded with couples. As the Harper called out it being Lady's Choice on the dance, Kinara glanced over at Kiloka and was just about to ask if he'd like to dance when Melody beat her to it.

"Daddy, won't you dance with me pretty please?" The little girl asked hopefully, as Kinara just closed her mouth and smiled at the pair of them. She did give Kiloka a small nod as if to say she'd be fine with him on the dance floor.

Re: Gather: Callamere Whers Stall Atten: Marsali, Revai

She'd spent so long admiring the race runners and asking some very specific and detailed questions, especially those beautiful Callamere Whites, that she'd finally annoyed the stablehands enough for them to direct her to the Callamere where stall if she had more questions.

So of course, after the race and picking up her winnings, the very short girl (standing at a flat 5 feet tall) hurried over to the stall she'd been directed to. In a nice pair of pants, instead of a skirt like most girls today, and a nice but kind of simple looking loose blouse with a clear set of candidate knots hanging from her shoulder, she had some curves but they were mostly hidden. It was the bright silky sheen of her pale blond hair pulled back into a runner-tail bobbing back and forth as she walked that helped people to realize she was indeed a girl.

Approaching the stall, she waited patiently while others who were clearly interested in buying a wher or otherwise asking questions about them finished up, and then once it was clear she walked up. In a happy, polite voice she inquired "Hello there, miss Revai?"

Prominently set in the middle of the Gather were the adjoined Callamere Wher and Wherhall stalls to the right was Callamere with Revai at the head. There she had a selection of eggs and even a number of whelps of the "pet" variety of whers that had been in development for turns. They weren't pets like a cat or dog, but they were designed to be dumber, more obedient, and smaller than the earlier lines and therefore hopefully safer for people wanting whers who weren't using them as working whers. Ever picky, she was quick to toss out on their ear anyone she thought that would mistreat her whers or would be unable to handle them. Never one out for a simple mark, especially when there was always someone else right behind them ready to buy anyway.

OOC: Anyone wanting a more "pet-like" wher can approach Revai who will ICly decide whether to sell or not.
