Kassia nodded, at least appreciating the response though she could see that the girl didn't actually mean it through her fury.
"Perhaps I shouldn't have picked up your piece," she allowed. "Maybe another time I can come back and have a better look with your express permission, but in the meantime you must learn that you can't react the way you did. Attacking people is expressly forbidden short of defending people in this Weyr. We are being incredibly lenient, though I doubt you believe us. If I'd had my wher with me nearby somewhere, you might have suffered far worse. Learn to control that temper if you want to become a potential rider. Do you understand?"

Kabelth grumbled at having to be more of a messenger (taking after her grandmother), but passed back the messenge quick enough. ((The Dining Hall is fine. Mine will be there soon.))
While Sarati headed to the Dining Hall, she headed to lake to find a spot in the sun. She spotted a Foreth sunning in her favorite spot. For some reason she'd always been tolerated better by the Queen than most, so long as she was quiet and settled next to the gigantic Queen, the contrast between biggest dragon in the world and one of the smallest quite the sight.

"Yiyu," she supplied quickly. She switched her gaze between the Dragonhealer and the creamy brown flit. Her lips quirked up in a warm smile as she watched him come forward, though inside she wondered just what he was up to.

Re: You're willing to take me back, right? (Dytha/Larsin)
"Mendl!" Dyha recognised the other Healer and she was given a rare smile. Dytha was genuinely pleased to see her. She'd come to realise just how insulated she had been as a Weyrling. Sure, they had been granted more freedom as they approached their graduation but for the most part, they just seemed to stick with each other. And that was more than a little awkward when a good percentage of your classmates were either avidly talking about their new roles or were still so young they wouldn't be leaving the Weyrling Wing any time soon. She laughed heartily at Mendl's quip. "There's a surprise. Fancy themselves to be these incredible Healers and faint at the first sight of ichor. Bunch of wherryheads." She began to set off towards the back, pausing to shout over her shoulder. "I've not got a huge amount of time but send me your shift schedule - when you're about for it, lets go and get some lunch or something." It was a rare invitation, rarer still for Dytha to offer one so freely. Maybe she could make some of her old acquaintances into something more resembling a friend. She headed through the Infirmary, approaching the section that Mendl had been referring to. She didn't go directly in, instead calling out. "Master Larsin? Are you free to speak?"

Doryth seemed to be just as taken aback with finding a girl as the girl had with finding a dragon. Her comment confused the blue, who quickly replied to her, {{ If I wasn't, then why I am I here? }} Desille heard Doryth speaking to somebody and her nerves grew only worse. She blitzed into the craft halls, turning familiar tunnels until she came upon exactly what she was looking for, "Doryth!" she exclaimed, nearly out of breath. "You big blue lump! You're not supposed to be in here!" {{ But! I am! Re: Am I A Joke To You?! Att: R'tal
Laura Walker
R'tal wasn't Weyrleader any more, not even WeyrSecond, and he was heartily grateful for that fact. Not having to have his eyes on the entirety of the Weyr when it rose to fight Fall made his life a lot easier. Still, when someone executed something impressive right in front of him it was difficult not to notice. He wasn't blind after all, and it would be petty to deny a compliment to a youngster just because it didn't have the weight of rank behind it. "Hey, hey you," he called, jogging up to the kid who was still masked in his Fall gear. "That was some move you managed there."

Re: In Need of a Bit of Healing (Ambrelli/Z'go)
Rogue Kakashi
Z'go was not impressed by the woman's attitude, even if he could understand it to a certain degree. He let out quick grunt in response and rolled his eyes as he closed the door after her. Although the rider wasn't in the best state, one could not say the same for his weyr; it was impeccable and well decorated, taking advantage of the space he had as well as he could. Gamyth was laying on his stone couch near the ledge from where the two-tones brown could watch the going ons of the weyrbowl. The brownrider let her go after the dragon as he headed over to his bed and pulled on a fresh tunic. By the time he returned to the dragonhealer and Gamyth she was just about finishing her introduction. The brown had turned his massive head towards her, clearly understanding that he was being spoken to. His voice filled Z'go's head, "He says that you have his permission." Z'go leaned in the wall, crossing his arms to watch. "The score is right there on the back leg. I put some numbweed on it earlier." The singe on the brown's leg wasn't too severe, at least at first glance. A follicle of thread had swiped past him just as they went between, causing a superficial burn over Gamyth's hide. It was very itchy and whole area felt tight. - Z'go and Gamyth

Re: Now I have ALL the friends! (Tyne/R'zzon)
Tyne covered the hand on her arm with her own, much smaller one, her slim fingers threading easily through his own and she smiled up at him - a warm, genuine smile that made her often so dark and sad eyes sparkle brightly. "I knew you'd understand." I was so hard to put it into words that someone could follow because it was so hard to understand in her own mind as well. How did you put into words something that every core of your being said was wrong and unnatural so that someone else could make sense of it? She rested her head against his arm for a moment, enjoying the warmth coming through his sleeve. The moment was disrupted by the head of tiny blue sticking his head out of the blanket with a loud and bewildered squawk. The others followed suit and started shouting angrily for the reason for their disruption. "Oh hush, shush now babies," Tyne cooed, pulling her hand away to lean into the basket. Bobbin contributed too, leaning in and warbling at the shouting hatchlings. They were safe and could go back to sleep, sleep was good, they needed lots of sleep. Safety and comfort and the need to sleep was the overarching emotions being pushed at the disturbed firelizards and several of them quietened, watching their observers with whirling eyes. "Not all, I have named some!" Tyne pointed at a brown who was watching them suspiciously. "Like him, he's Chief. He listens a lot, especially to Cairn. I think he's going to be the Wingsecond." She held up the tiny green who was still clinging to her free hand, the green squealed and chirruped and Tyne nuzzled her fondly, the green butting against her chin with her own tiny head. "And this is Zeeti. She's an absolute sweetheart. I can tell she's going to be a cuddlebug."

Totally not an answer that had been practised multiple times before coming to the office. "Might I offer you something to drink?" she asked politely, taking a drawn out moment to visually inspect R'bor. He held himself well but then again, most Bronzeriders did. "So, what do you see yourself doing in ten turns time?" It wasn't trick question. She had noticed only too quickly that his response had contained something very important - it had been all about how it would help further his own career.

Re: Sacharrine Saturated Nightmare (Talena, and CM Nayari)
"Whilst I do not approve of, nor permit heavy handed teaching, I have no issue with a zero tolerance approach. This isn't a holiday, this is where we have to weed out the wheat from the chaff and ensure that the Candidates who go out on those Hatching Sands are as ready as they can be and most importantly, are fully aware of and ready to accept the responsibility of being a Rider if their lifemate so happens to be out there on those sands." Stepping more fully into the room, Nayari took a step closer, gesturing to the empty chair in silent request of being allowed to join Talena. "End of the day, it doesn't matter that they do not know you. You wear the knots that say that in the classrom, you are in charge and my Candidate should know well enough by know to understand what that means. I do not tolerate rudeness or insubordination in classrooms. Being here is a privilege and most importantly, an opportunity to obtain an education and understanding of the way the Weyr works. Even if they do not find themselves feeling that Candidacy is suited to them, we can send them back out into the world with basic education and in most cases, a basic Craft application that they can turn their hand to and I do not begrudge anyone who makes that decision."

Re: What Did You Accuse Me Of? atten: Kassia/Ysolde
Ysolde opened her mouth to protest but Nayari got there first. "Whatever arguments you might be formulating you can close your mouth again, Ysolde. You're fortunate, no, you're extremely lucky that the Weyrwoman hasn't forbidden you from standing at this clutch, no..." Nayari held up a warning finger as Ysolde opened her mouth again. "... You're letting yourself down Ysolde. And you should be ashamed of yourself. You, who normally prides yourself on such good manners is currently showing an astounding lack of them." Ysolde kept her mouth shut, but inside she was trembling with fury. Maybe when she had calmed down a little she would admit that she had been a little hasty in her reaction but not yet. Right now she was two steps and a sneeze from doing or saying something that would get her into even more trouble. But it just seemed so biased and more than a little unfair. "... Furthermore," Nayari continued, "... as well as the Weyrwoman's expectations, during these two sevenday day you have also lost your crafting privileges. I will be sending a letter to your father informing him of your behaviour and during this time, you will instead be assisting myself. You will present to my office instead of doing your Craft. And you will be writing a formal apology to the Weyrwoman." Nayari's face was thunder and if Ysolde was still considering arguing, she thought better of it, biting her lip so hard that she could taste the metallic tang of blood filling her mouth. "Yes, Candidatemaster." she managed between gritted teeth. Her eyes sparkled with bright, furious tears. And what would her father say, oh, but he would be so disappointed in her. That her Craft would be taken away as well, her chance at solitude was almost too much to bear. And for what? A rude person who couldn't keep their hands to themselves but just so happened to have the right knots on their shoulder. Oh., she could see how this worked. It didn't matter that Kassia had been, in her mind, rude and extremely presumptuous to pick something up that she knew wasn't hers and knew she hadn't been given permission for. No, that was perfectly fine. Or so, that was how Ysolde interpreted it. Her face was tight, jaw clenched and eyes blinking furiously to keep the treacherous tears under control. She could feel a petulant response clawing its way up her throat and she swallowed hard, determined to refuse it escape. She straightened herself up, correcting her posture with her shoulders back, head held up high. Oh, but how she wished she could excuse herself to her cot but as they were standing right by it, the exit wouldn't be nearly as dramatic as she wanted. "I welcome any reprimand that you and the Weyrwoman see fit." Her voice was clenched and clipped, working furiously to be kept under control.

"Oh, he got his due!" Aruithil continued, very much pleased that Kyrel shared her opinion. She too could not believe that he was walking around freely but it had been three turns and if anything were to be done in that regard it would have. "He was confined to his weyr for months, and on daily latrine duty for twice as long, and not allowed to miss a single Drill not Fall. Re: I Still Can't Belive You're a Mother atten: Shalia/Sarati
Shalia brightened up as the voice sounded in her head. While not nearly as recognizable to her as Rhyth, or even Foreth, she still identified it immediately. ((Thank you, Kabelth! Please ask her to meet me at the Dining Hall? Or should I meet at your weyr?)) she asked the green as politely as she could. It was, after all, possible that the other woman already had picnic supplies lined up.
Having young twins did eat up a chunk of her time, even if she tended to leave them at the Creche... or with their father... or grandfather. Kids were cute enough, although she preferred to enjoy them for a short while and then hand them back to whomever they belonged to, but babies were a lot of work with not all that much interesting about them. In fact, she'd been on her way to the Creche guiltily aware that she should spend *some* time with the babies (...all the babies in her little family unit, not just the ones she'd birthed, and maybe take Gillyna for a ride...) but happily switched course. -- LrdSlvrhnd on the Wizzy thingie, and also on Discord

Old Enough to Know Better ((Attn: S'ryll / Kyrel))
Mid-morning found Kyrel sitting next to the weyrlake, standing out like a sore thumb as the youngest person settled on the beach to enjoy the peaceful waterfront. He was not the only one present, certainly, but the only young man in candidate attire. By the angle of the sun, it would have been obvious to any onlooker that he was skipping the day's first Harper-led lessons. No one had approached him thus far to tell him that he couldn't be there, and in his mind there was little reason he shouldn't be, so he didn't have even the decency to pretend otherwise.
This early in the day, the temperature was not yet blisteringly hot. It was the perfect spot for him to read. Nestled in his lap was a thick volume he was nearly 3/4ths of the way through, his thumb holding the pages apart at the center crease. Alongside it, a piece of slender rope had been knotted awkwardly by inexperienced hands. "...and so you thread it through this loop," Kyrel muttered to himself, not a care in the world beyond his study at that moment. "Oh, under that one and then over."
There was so much to catch up on before Hatching day arrived if he wanted a shot to Stand with the other candidates. It seemed like he spent every waking moment absorbing new information; even avoiding a numbers lesson, he was still /reading/. Faranth, there was /so much reading/.

Re: Tail-Bone of a Person ( Cremsden / Z'go )

Z'go listened and nodded as Cremsden explained the medine and how to use it. Numbweed seemed simple enough but the brownrider was wary of the pills, as he'd heard of more than one person becoming addicted to them if they weren't careful enough. It would've probably bothered the medic to know, but Z'go was already deciding that he would try them once and if they didnt sit well he'd probably try to slather up the numbweed until he felt better. "Thanks, Cremsden," he replied, taking the medicine in one hand. "Knew I could count on you, even if you do lose more than you win in dragonpoker." The brownrider winked and clapped the man, who probably won much more than Z'go gave him credit for, in gratitude. "Four days then. Try to put a muzzle on those apprentices of yours by then." - Z'go
